Bentley Continental Supersports -- 700bhp, 209mph
Bet you'd forgotten about this one. Yes, before Bentley wowed us with all the sleeker, more raffish new Continental GT, it generated a Supersports version of the outgoing vehicle. And the headline was rather simply this: seven hundred horsepower. And yes, that's proper Victorian British imperial reel. It's not the most soulful car on this listing by a margin, but this is actually the reigning rate champ among Bentleys, also incongruously magnificent consequently.
Dodge Demon -- 840bhp, 168mph
The very first road-certified mill car to be officially effective at wheelies (or even wheelstands, we assume ) is the Dodge Hellcat's more wicked, quarter-mile-munching twin. It's a drag-race monster having an 840bhp supercharged V8 heart, although that sub-170mph top speed is the lowest in this record, the Demon's ability to launch in 0-60mph in a verifiable 2.3 seconds is as remarkable as it's barmy. A worthy addition to the annals of muscle car legend.
Porsche 911 GT2 RS -- 691bhp, 211mph
We waited quite a while for Porsche to turn the 991-generation of 911 into a 'widowmaker'. When the 691bhp GT2 RS came, and we drove it, the most shocking thing was how habitable and un-terrifying it was. That's modern tyres and aerodynamics for you. And consequently, the GT2 RS blitzed around the Nrburgring at a new record time of 6mins 43.7sec. Notice: to replicate such time you want to be as handy and courageous as an true expert racing driver.
BMW M760Li -- 602bhp, 155mph
This unassuming pluto-barge isalso, in actuality, the most effective, fastest road-going BMW ever produced. It's not a legitimate M car, however, the bi-turbo V12 that lurks from the swollen nostrils of the supreme 7 Series is a true monster one of motors. It develops 602bhp, also thanks to xDrive 4x4 providing the grip, it could start from 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds. So it's faster than the i8, quicker than an M3, and up before the new M5 was disclosed, was unassailable in the BMW range for pace. It's not so much a flagship for a destroyer.
Hennessey Exorcist -- 1,000bhp, n/a mph
Of course, Texan horsepower fetishist John Hennessey couldn't allow Dodge enjoy the spoils of war for extended without issuing his own unleaded-swilling riposte -- with a smart title to boot. The Exorcist is, as you can see, based on a Camaro ZL1 (or even the more monitor focused 1LE, should you prefer), and, ahem, trumps the Dodge option by developing 1,000bhp. The top speed is so much unknown, but as the 0-60mph period is sub 3sec, we think you'll agree it deserves a place among 2017's very unhinged performance cars.
McLaren Senna -- 789bhp, n/a mph
Are you accustomed to the appearances yet? Us neither. And the name? Hmm... maybe we'd better focus on the specs, and that's the point where the brutal-looking Senna earns its keep. McLaren's new Ultimate Series machine grows 789bhp from its 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8, with no hybrid motor in sight. McLaren hasn't disclosed top rate figures yet, however since it is a craft built to warp around tracks, we're anticipating a headline v-max to be forfeited in the name of lap-time heroics.
